Happy Mother’s Day

I am so very grateful to still have my mom. My dad has been gone almost 20 years, and I miss him every single day. So, each day with my mom is a real blessing. She just celebrated her 87th birthday!

Later in the week we are going to our favorite local greenhouse to get all of our annual goodies. We do up some window boxes, and we make several hanging baskets for our upper deck each spring. We will put up our hummingbird feeders too, as I finally saw the first one day before yesterday. I also plan to have an herb garden container this year, and I will be turning over some dirt for a small wildflower garden! We had a freeze last night, so I am glad I waited.

Spring has sprung, finally, and that brings me great joy. Everything is greening up nicely. The birds and the bees and butterflies are out and about, and beautiful puffy cloud days make a great scene for when I want to sway in my hammock for a spell.

Remember to slow down and take notice of all of these small, wonderful moments! And if you still have your momma, I hope you get to enjoy the day with her.
