Birthday Week in the books!

It has been a busy one. It started off with some beautiful weather, some amazing sunrises affected by the smoke from the Canada wildfires, my 52nd birthday, time spent with my wee family, steaks, cake, gifts, and a planned camping getaway for our wedding anniversary!

I got some new window boxes from my mom and my sister, with some more pretties to fill them with. My sister took us out for milkshakes at Lakeside Creamery over at Deep Creek Lake. The night before I had bought some ridiculously priced NY Strips, and we had that with loaded baked potato and a veggie for dinner. We do not eat a lot of steak anymore, so it was a real treat! We had pizza one night for dinner, too, and that was also a nice treat.

The day of my actual birthday, I had leftover pizza for breakfast, the milkshake was lunch, steak and potato for dinner, and then a piece of chocolate pudding cake for dessert, with some whipped cream.

I have not eaten that bad since September, when I had bariatric surgery. I felt like total shit the following day, but immediately got back on track.

Today, I am doing laundry, cleaning the house some, and making some oatmeal breakfast bars and granola, to take with us on our little getaway. We are only going right up the road, to Sweet Springs Glamping, and staying in a skoolie for a couple days. I cannot wait. I am secretly hoping the hubby LOVES it, because I desperately want to buy a skoolie and travel the country. *sigh*

Tomorrow, I have to do a grocery pickup, and pack up a few things before we head over there. I am so excited!

I hope to do a lot of things this year. I am tired of life passing me by! The day after we get home, we have a monthly PRIDE event we attend (allies all the way over here!), then on Friday I am hitting up a new local spot for some live music and chill time. Saturday is our local Pride Festival, so we will be there most of the day. Weather permitting, on Sunday morning, I am getting up early and going for a short hike.

I hope to have lots of photos to share next week. I also hope to remember this space and to start posting more!

🙂

  1. I cannot get over how similar we are, with what we like to do, who we support, and our mindset. I used to live in Cheat Lake and I kind of wish I still did so we could hang out.
